Makeup Eraser First Impression!

Jodyanncxo Makeup Eraser

I’ve been seeing a few beauty bloggers and MUA’s on Instagram removing their make-up with this “pink magical cloth” and when I say make-up I mean layers and layers of cake. Now I’m not one to just hop on trends and want to try everything I see but this one stood out to me for more reasons than one. After a long day of wearing make-up I like to get it off my face as soon as I get home and let’s just say one drug-store make-up remover wipe doesn’t always completely do the trick. Another factor is that I always manage to get “make-up remover” juice in my eye, which CAN be painful and irritant when trying to get rid of that tricky liquid eyeliner.

So one day after work I strolled into the Sephora in Herald Square, NYC only meaning to purchase some cleanser for my upcoming vacation and happened to notice this flourescent pink package staring me dead in the face. The Makeup Eraser was practically calling my name since it was the last one on the shelf on the check-out line. Boy! Sephora always gets me when I’m on-line at the register with their sample sizes & last minute buys. But either way, since I was familiar with the name of the product and had already seen rave reviews on it I decided to purchase and bring it home with me. It retails for $20.

Flash forward to 3 weeks later. I opened up this package and pulled out the pink cloth to finally give it a go. Here’s how it went…

On my face, I had: a layer of medium coverage liquid foundation, under-eye concealer, setting powder, powder blush, pencil eyeliner, liquid eyeliner, mascara, and faded lipstick from earlier in the day.

I washed the eraser with water prior to using, as indicated on the instructions included in the package, then saturated it enough for it to be left damp.

I went to town and started gently rubbing the towel across and around my face. With just ONE swipe I noticed a huge difference. All my make-up was gone—even the stubborn liquid eyeliner I always seem to have a hard time removing from my eyelids! The cloth was extremely soft on the skin and gentle around the sensitive areas of my face. It’s fragrance free and contains no harsh chemicals. I love that about it! No make-up remover juice in my eye THIS time. haha!

After the make-up removal process I decided to cleanse the cloth with my favorite face wash to lift any leftover stains on the towel. This also worked like a charm and this magic Makeup Eraser looked brand new once again.

I would always advise to follow-up by cleansing your face with a facial wash as there may be left-over makeup sitting in your pores. This cloth removes surface makeup but won’t necessarily dig deep to cleanse your skin like a cleanser would.

Website Product Description: “The MakeUp Eraser removes 100% of your makeup with water only.  Just wet the cloth and remove your makeup. This includes waterproof eyeliner and mascara, HD makeup and much more. The best part is…it’s reusable. Throw it in the wash and no stains remain. The MakeUp Eraser will last up to 1,000 washes and eliminates the need to buy disposable product to remove your makeup.  The MakeUp Eraser is a pink (also available in black) cloth with a hand-sewn sateen edge that’s plush and soft to the touch. Treat yourself to a spa at home every day, while saving money!”

My final thoughts: Love it! Once my 1,000 washes are up I’ll definitely be purchasing another one. Maybe in black next time since I’m not sure what the pink will look like over time.
