Hi All! In this blog post I will be featuring Loreal Paris’ Smooth Intense Ultimate Straight hair line as well as two of their BLOW DRY IT products. I was recently given the shampoo, pre-conditioner, & conditioner from this line as well as the thermal smoothing creme and quick dry primer spray of their other line, “BLOW DRY IT”, from one of my lovely cousins and instantly wanted to try it out. I am currently 9 weeks post and tend to struggle with the management of my hair this far-long post relaxer. I have very coarse natural roots that become extremely tedious to detangle and blow dry when wet. With the combination of a few products that I use in my weekly hair regimen along with the these made my hair feel like instant silk! Here’s a step-by-step of how I went about the process and my thoughts. =)
I started by applying Carols Daughters’ Lisa’s Hair Elixir Restoring Oil to my scalp and throughout my hair then following up with Shea Moisture’s Superfruit Complex 10-in-1 Renew System Hair Masque right on top. I usually sit underneath the steamer when I pre-poo but figured since I was going to deep condition on this wash day, I would wait to do so then. I had this combo on my head without a shower cap for about 1 hour then I hopped into the shower to wash it out.

How the brand describes it: A conditioning scalp and hair oil treatment that moisturizes, smoothes and rejuvenates both the follicle and scalp.
• Shea Moisture’s Superfruit Complex 10-in-1 Renew System Hair Masque
How the brand describes it: An intensive antioxidant-rich treatment that helps to perfect and renew vibrancy to brittle lackluster hair.
In the shower, I lathered and rinsed twice with Loreal Paris’ Advanced Haircare – Smooth Intense Ultimate Straight Shampoo. Even at this point I already felt the softness of my tresses and the amount of ease it took to run my fingers through it. For the pre-conditioner, I applied evenly throughout my hair and left on for 1 minute. Before rinsing, I layered on the Smooth Intense Ultimate Straight Conditioner and left on for 5 minutes. Now when I tell you I haven’t felt my hair this buttery and soft since my last texlaxer, I mean it! The texture of my new growth felt so relaxed and smooth.

Although my hair was silky and soft, I still wanted to go ahead and do a protein treatment. Since I bleached my bangs earlier this month, I have been doing a light protein treatment each wash day—no matter what new products I use. Not only does it soften the hair, but it also strengthens and helps restore protein loss. I applied a handful of this reconstructor then sat underneath the steamer for approximately 20 minutes after I got out of the shower (no shower cap). Upon completion, I rinsed with cool water to seal my cuticles.
• ApHogee Keratin 2 Minute Reconstructor
How the brand describes it: A powerful, one step treatment with a concentrated blend of keratin amino acids, botanical oils, and vitamins that does wonders to restore strength and softness to hair that requires a deep, penetrating treatment.
Once my hair was t-shirt dried, I applied the thermal smoother cream before detangling section by section with a wide tooth/rake comb. Prior to actually diving in with the blow-dryer, I sprayed about 4 spritz of the quick dry primer spray on the length of my hair. The consistency of the spray reminded me of the Fantasia IC Heat Protectant Spray. It wasn’t water based but more-so felt like a dry oil.
• Loreal Paris’s Advanced Hairstyle BLOW DRY IT Thermal Smoother Cream
How the brand describes it: Instantly smooths and protects as well as de-frizzes with fribralock technology. It’s formulated to prep the hair for styling with heated tools.
• Loreal Paris’s Advanced Hairstyle BLOW DRY IT Quick Dry Primer Spray
How the brand describes it: Reacts with heat to reduce blow-dry time as well as shields against heat damage.
I can honestly say the combination of the thermal smoother cream and quick dry primer spray made blow-drying easy breezy! The settings on my RED by Kiss Power Dryer Ceramic 2000 Turbo blow dryer were set for WARM on ((HIGH SPEED)).
• RED by Kiss Power Dryer Ceramic 2000 Turbo
How the brand describes it: Quiet, long life AC motor technology speeds up drying time, reducing heat exposure.
And that’s about it! I felt no need to flat iron since my hair was straight enough for my liking. I probably won’t use this line each and every time I blow dry but mostly when I’m near texlax day and want to rock a more straight look.
To finish up I placed my hair in pincurls then threw on my silk scarf and hopped into bed. Boy was I tired. I guess that’s what I get for starting wash “day” at 10 o’clock at night. Haha! Zzzz
If you end up trying these products or already have, let me know how they worked out for you. I hope you love them just as much as I did! =)
I hope you enjoyed & Thanks for stopping by!
